International Seminar "Heart to Heart"

On February 10, 2022, the international online seminar "Heart to Heart" was held, which was organized by the Northern State Medical University and the Arctic University of Norway.  Vladimir М. Shkolnikov,  Sergey Timonin, David Leon and  Elena Churilova took part in the seminar.

On February 10, 2022, the International online seminar "Heart to Heart" organized by the Northern State Medical University and the Arctic University of Norway was held.
More than 50 scientists from Russia, Norway, Great Britain and Germany took part in the seminar, including the staff of the International Laboratory for Population and Health, Vladimir Shkolnikov, Sergey Timonin, David Leon, and Elena Churilova.
The main goal of the seminar was to discuss and identify the main directions for the upcoming joint research "Know your heart 2" (Arkhangelsk) and "Tromso 8" (Tromso, Norway).
The leaders of the first study "Know Your Heart" Professor of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Chief Research Fellow of the International Laboratory for Population and Health David Leon and Head of the International Center for Scientific Competence of the NSMU A.V. Kudryavtsev presented the main results of the joint work of an international team of specialists. Vladimir Shkolnikov, Academic Supervisor of the International Laboratory for Population and Health, presented a report on the state of health of the Russian population, in which he identified priority areas for further study.
Workshop participants discussed scientific issues and data collection methods in several areas of research, including aging, socioeconomic and behavioral risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cardiometabolic health, clinical measurements and biomarkers of cardiovascular disease, the use of electronic health data and disease registries.
