Event ended

The International Laboratory for Population and Health of the HSE cordially invites you to the next session of the scientific seminar "Modern Demography," which will be held on April 24. Our guest is Johan Mackenbach, MD, PhD, Professor of Public Health, Chair of the Department of Public Health at Erasmus MC, University Medical Center Rotterdam.

Abstract
Inequalities in health between people with a lower and higher socioeconomic position have been found all around the world, including in European countries with highly developed welfare systems. This presentation will build upon a series of comparative studies of health inequalities in European countries, in order to identify the factors which determine the magnitude of health inequalities, and to find the reasons why health inequalities persist despite the welfare state.

Venue: Bolshoy Trehsvyatitelsky pereulok, 3, Room 526

Working language will be English.

If you need to order a pass to the building of the HSE, please inform about your participation by e-mail vsokolova@hse.ru (Vera Sokolova) by 12.00 on April 24, 2019.
